Document Description
Renovation to address deferred maintenance, indoor air quality, and energy efficiency and implement energy conservation strategies through upgrades to the existing HVAC system. The project scope includes HVAC system for the main server/data center switching to E-power, replacing the transformer, main switchboard breaker, and new rooftop units and generator. The building will remain unchanged, and the building will remain approximately the same size, upgraded equipment will serve the same building square footage as existing equipment, and no expansion of the area to be served is proposed.

The project site is within the already developed campus and not in an environmentally sensitive area, which in any event are qualifying considerations only for Class 3,4,5,6,and 11 and not Class 1, would no result in cumulative impacts, has no possibility of resulting in significant environmental impacts due to unusual circumstances, would not damage scenic resources, is not proposed on a listed hazardous waste site and would not result in a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource.

None of the exceptions to the categorical exemptions as set forth in Section 15300.2 of the State CEQA Guidelines applies to the project, as the project site is within the already developed campus and not in an environmentally sensitive area, which in any event are qualifying considerations only for Class 3, 4, 5, 6, and 11 categorical exemptions and not Class 1; would not result in cumulative impacts; has no possibility of resulting in significant environmental impacts due to unusual circumstances; would not damage scenic resources within a scenic highway corridor; is not proposed on a listed hazardous waste site; and would not result in a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource.
