Contra Costa Resource Conservation District (CCRCD) is receiving mitigation funds to install a 0.03 acre native wetland garden at Ferry Point, Martinez. The project area is owned and controlled by the City of Martinez. The garden will increase biodiversity and habitat for native wildlife as it will consist of various native grasses, sedges, and rushes interspersed with native flowering forbs and shrubs that thrive in brackish, wet environments. An engaging interpretive sign will be installed, featuring information about the garden and native plants. The project site is and will continue to be open to the public to enjoy.
