Document Description
CAL FIRE would provide funding to the Mendocino County Resource Conservation District to conduct vegetation and forest management treatments including prescribed fire (pile burning and understory burning), manual felling, mechanical treatments, including mastication, chipping, and biomass removal. These treatments will aid in decreasing the severity of wildfire, help protect the communities surrounding the North Red Mountain area from wildfire, promote native plant and wildlife species, and improve forest resiliency.

The proposed project was reviewed in its entirety under the U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Arcata Field Office’s NEPA North Red Mountain Forest Health and Fuels Reduction Environmental Assessment (#DOI-BLM-CA-N030-2020-0015-EA), Decision Record, and Finding of No Significant Impact, signed November 2, 2020.
