Document Description
The proposed project would connect the First Los Angeles Aqueduct (LAA1) (concrete conduit) and Second Los Angeles Aqueduct (LAA2) (riveted steel pipeline) through installation of approximately 183 feet of 60-inch diameter pipe. The material to be used for the pipe is still to be determined. The LAA Crossover Project includes the installation of an isolation structure on the LAA1 downstream of the LAA Crossover connection, two 60-inch diameter butterfly valves on the Crossover pipeline to prevent back flow into the LAA1, a new crossover pipe below grade with a new mechanical platform constructed atop the replacement segment of the LAA1, a new connection structure to allow for the connection of the LAA Crossover pipeline to the LAA1 concrete channel, a LAA Crossover connection to LAA2 downstream of the LAA1-LAA2 intersection, and corrosion control.
