Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of a culvert in each of two separate ephemeral drainages (unnamed tributaries) to provide a new access road for a vineyard development. Each culvert crossing will consist of a 40-foot long 24-inch diameter high-density polyethylene pipe culvert embedded at least 6-inches below grade. The culverts will be set into a poured concrete foundation. Hand placed cobble will be set into the concrete before the culvert is placed to mimic a natural streambed. After the culvert is placed and the concrete has cured and dried, engineered fill will be placed on top of the culvert to form the roadbed. The crossing top width will be approximately 20-feet wide. Both culverts will be sized for the 100-year storm flow conditions. Approximately 110-square feet of rock riprap will be placed at the outlet of each culvert. The project will result in a total permanent impact of approximately 380 square feet. There will not be any water present when the work is conducted. No trees will be removed as part of this project. The only impact to vegetation will be a temporary impact of approximately 1,200 square feet to nonnative grasses, which will be reseeded with a native seed mix and treated with erosion control after construction is complete.
