Install new modern fiber-optic communications and re-route existing electrical services at the historic museum/visitor center located at Plumas-Eureka State Park from above to below ground to improve connectivity demands, upgrade infrastructure, and restore a more historic appearance to the area. Work will use heavy equipment and hand tools to: • Excavate an approx. 85-ft long x 4-ft deep x 2.5-ft wide utility trench from the existing utility pole to a new Panel Board location, then to an existing electrical meter on the NW side of the museum; • Install a 3-in. electrical conduit and 2-in. data conduit in the trench and backfill with excavated soils; • At the NW corner of the museum, excavate an approx. 4-ft deep x 2-ft wide x 3-ft long hole and install a new 17-in. x 30-in. pull-box; • Drill two (2) 4-in. diameter holes on the exterior of the museum to bring the fiber- optic and electrical lines into the building; • Excavate two (2) 6-in. x 3-ft deep holes and install Panel Board supports; and attach the Panel 48 – 66-in. from ground level, approx. 10-ft from the existing power pole; • Remove existing overhead powerline, conduit, and old meter from the side of the museum and apply touch-up paint to match existing color; and • Use existing material or approved overlay to return all disturbed surfaces to preexisting conditions. Groundwork will impact a county-maintained road and a developed area on Park property, with impacts to both undisturbed and previously disturbed earth.
