Document Description
The Alameda County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (District) owns and maintains 21 pump stations throughout Alameda County. In December of 2018, the District prepared a Condition Assessment for each of its pump stations, which identified various deficiencies. This project address the deficiencies at the J-2 Pump Station. Work at J-2 Pump Station includes repairing and relocating the 48 inch flap gate and three 42 inch gates, replacing one 42 inch flap gate and one 16 inch flap gate, making repairs to the concrete outfall structure, cleaning and re-coating the interior of five discharge pipes, lining the gravity bypass pipe, repairing concrete in the pump station wet well, and installing a temporary cofferdam and dewatering system on the existing concrete apron. All work will be performed within the District property. The purpose of the project is to rehabilitate flap gates, pump station discharge piping, and concrete structures to improve maintenance operations and extend the service life of the District’s flood control facility.
