Document Description
The project scope involves minor alteration to an approximately 12,000 square-foot portion of the El Dorado Center – Folsom Lake College campus to include a small vineyard with approximately five (5) vineyard rows, a small storage shed, a minor amount of irrigation installed, and pavers for a walkway. There will be approximately five (5) ornamental/common landscape trees (Chinese Pistache) removed during the fall or early winter, and no special status trees (elderberries or Heritage oaks) will be impacted. No greater than six (6) inches of excavation in an area previously disturbed for landscape design is proposed. We understand vegetation removal will occur outside of nesting bird season (February 1 through August 31) and outside of nesting Swainson’s hawk season (March 1 through September 15), and the project does not facilitate any growth in students or staff. Based on these project details, a Notice of Exemption (NOE) can be filed for this project. In the unanticipated event that the tree removal will occur within the seasons described above, LRCCD will have a qualified biologist (outside of the scope of services provided here) conduct a preconstruction survey prior to removal.
