Reasons for Exemption
Section 15301(a) exempts the repair, maintenance and minor repair of existing streets and roads. Section 15061(b)(3), exempts projects that are not expected to have a significant impact on the environment. Section 15302 exempts the replacement or reconstruction of existing structures and facilities where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. Section 15303 exempts the construction of new small facilities or structures. The proposed project is exempt from environmental review since the project will provide additional Right-Of-Way to allow for the relocation of existing utilities.
