Document Description
The Project is removing, repairing, and reconstructing elements of a structurally deficient timber seawall in the Salt Works canal. The repairs include installing a new fiber-reinforced polymer (FRP) sheet-pile-wale system with tipping pile anchors, replacing the top four feet of backfill with permeable, lightweight fill, and incorporating weep holes to allow for pressure drainage behind the wall. Existing tie-rods in good condition will be reused or replaced. A vibratory hammer will be used for FRP pile installation. Elements of the existing seawall that are no longer needed will be removed following the installation of the repair elements. All work will be completed landside using excavation equipment or hand tools.
