Document Description
The original Agreement, the “Multi-year Conveyance Agreement among the Department of Water Resources of the State of California, Santa Clara Valley Water District and Kern County Water Agency for the Semitropic Water Banking Program” (SWPAO #11012), executed on November 22, 2011, set forth the terms and conditions for DWR to deliver a portion of Santa Clara Valley Water District’s (SCVWD) approved Central Valley Project (CVP) water supplies to Semitropic Water Storage District (Semitropic), a member unit of Kern County Water Agency (KCWA), for storage and future recovery. This Agreement provided for the conveyance of SCVWD’s CVP water to Semitropic through December 31, 2022 and recovery by December 31, 2035.
This Amendment, SWPAO #11012-A, extends the delivery of SCVWD’s CVP water by DWR to Semitropic for storage through December 31, 2027. The extension of the delivery term for five years constitutes continuation of existing operations and is within the scope of the environmental analysis included in the 1997 Initial Study and Negative Declaration, prepared by Semitropic, as the lead agency, for SCVWD’s participation in the Semitropic Water Banking Program through 2035 (SCH #1997041080). Water will continue to be conveyed through existing facilities with no expansion of existing use.
