The existing wooden pier and deck will be demolished with the assistance of a Crane and a transport barge. All decking boards and supports will be removed and loaded on a barge to be disposed of at the contractor’s yard. Fifty-two 6x6 wooden posts and four wooden piles will be removed to make way for the new structures. Thirteen new 8-in steel piles for the pier and six 10-in steel piles for the boat lift will also be installed. The equipment is limited to a barge with onboard equipment and a utility work truck. The project will take about 3.5 months to complete from the time construction commences. All construction equipment will be transported by water, except for the utility work vehicle that will be parked on the property driveway. Pursuant to the California Code of Regulations, Title 14, Division 6, Chapter 3, Section 15301, Class 1 Existing Facilities and Section 15303, Class 3 New Construction or Conversion of Small Structures will be applied to the proposed project.
