Document Description
Mt. San Antonio College proposes to install solar energy arrays in three existing parking areas on campus. Solar Energy Array #1 would be located in Lot 47 and would accommodate an 86 kW system. This system would serve as a shade structure for campus fleet vehicles. This system would also include a battery storage system which would allow campus fleet vehicles to charge overnight using stored energy. Solar Energy Array #2 would be located at Parking Structure S, or Gateway Parking Structure. This system would accommodate a 719 kW system and would serve as a shade structure for vehicles parking on the roof of the structure. Solar Energy Array #3 would be located in surface parking lot F and would accommodate a 1.6 MW system which would serve as a solar shade structure for vehicles parked in that area. The carports would be a minimum of 13-foot high and consist of metal columns and beams supporting array panels. These three Solar Energy Array systems would result in a combined total DC system size of 2.7 MW. The District and general community will benefit from a reduction in energy consumption and reduced energy costs.
