Document Description
The project is limited to the installation of a new concrete sea wall to protect the Regency Inn property. Activities include the removal of the existing failed seawall, the construction of the new seawall, and the back fill of material behind the new wall. The existing 40-foot masonry seawall will be removed from the bed of Clear Lake and disposed of offsite. A new approximately 65-foot long and 7-foot-high seawall will be constructed in place of the old seawall. The new seawall will be a cast-in-place concrete structure supported by ten (10) 24-inch diameter cast-in-place drilled piers. Approximately 15.5 cubic yards of material will be removed as a result of the drilling activities. The piers will be installed at a depth of 5 feet and be capped by a 5-foot concrete grade beam, with a stem wall extending out of the beam. Approximately 118 cubic yards of sand will be backfilled behind the new wall. A 4-inch-thick concrete slab will be placed on top of the backfilled material to make a new deck area. Approximately 15 cubic yards of rock slop protection will be placed at the toe of the new wall to prevent future scour. No native vegetation will be removed as a result of project activities.
