Document Description
This project includes improvements for ADA access ramps, rehabilitation of approximately 2,350,875 SF of existing asphalt concrete pavement. The rehabilitation of AC pavement is primarily grind/CIR and overlay or removal and replacement of existing AC pavement on the streets and limits within the city's right of way. Implementation of the project will reestablish suitable, durable, and serviceable pavement that will enhance vehicular and pedestrian safety.

Reasons for Exemption
The 2023-2024 Pavement Rehabilitation Project will not widen the roadway, increase the number of travel lanes, or include any component that will increase the capacity of the circulation system. The new asphalt concrete will have the same purpose and capacity and will be located on the same sites as the structures replaced. The restoration and rehabilitation of the deteriorated existing streets allow the project to be consistent with Class 1 Categorical Exemption as set forth in Section 15301(c) of the State CEQA Guidelines.
