Document Description
A Point of Delivery Agreement between California Department of Water Resources (DWR), Kern County Water Agency (KCWA) and The Metropolitan Water District of Southern California (Metropolitan) is approved to deliver Metropolitan’s State Water Project (SWP) water supplies to Irvine Ranch Water District’s (IRWD) banks in Rosedale-Rio Bravo Water Storage District (RRBWSD), a member unit of KCWA. In 2011, a Coordinated Operating, Water Storage, Exchange, and Delivery Agreement was entered into between Metropolitan and IRWD to manage the SWP water acquired and banked by IRWD in RRBWSD for the benefit of IRWD and Metropolitan. This year Metropolitan has a need to deliver 450 acre-feet of Metropolitan Table A supplies to IRWD’s banks to facilitate a carryover exchange with Central Coast Water Authority (CCWA). This Point of Delivery Agreement between the agencies will allow Metropolitan supplies to be delivered to IRWD’s banks for this exchange with CCWA, as well as for any other exchanges that may occur in the future. The Point of Delivery agreement will cover deliveries of Metropolitan supplies to IRWD’s banks through 2030 and recovery of delivered water through 2035.
