Document Description
The project installs new fiber optic cabling for the Education Building to support the NetV2 network modernization program on the Sacramento campus. The project scope includes upgrading the IT backbone feeds to the existing data closets, electrical service, and HVAC system to support independent cooling for each data closet. The project scope includes the installation of new fiber optic cabling and independent cooling system in each data closet; modifications to the power supply system and electrical components; and replacement of the phone system with VOIP phones.

This project will renovate existing interior space only with no expansion of existing use. This project qualifies as categorically exempt under Exemption Class 1 of the Guidelines for the Implementation to the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA). This exemption applies to the operation, repair, maintenance or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities or mechanical equipment, involving negligible or no expansion of the existing use. In addition, none of the exceptions for application of a categorical exemption apply to this project.
