Document Description
The California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection proposes to install a training tower, a carport, and helicopter pad at the Woodlake Fire Station, 35802 Olivera Drive, Woodlake, CA 93286. The location of the work is within the developed area of the station grounds, where excavation and grading has occurred in the past, leaving little native vegetation or soil development. The training tower will be 40ft x 36ft x 30ft tall on a concrete slab with up to 6 ft deep x 3 ft wide and 36 ft long anchors for additional structural support, excess soil will be properly disposed of by the contractor. Prior to laying new concrete, the existing pavement will be demolished and removed, and the ground will be leveled to ensure the quality of the foundation. A concrete slab will be installed for a carport to house a dozer transport and dozer. The concrete slab will be approximately 75 ft x 25 ft with anchors for the carport. The helicopter pad will be 100ft x 100ft, the ground will be leveled and compacted prior to the building of the pad. The pad will house an additional helicopter in the unit. Installation activities are anticipated to take approximately 5-6 months to complete all projects.
