Document Description
The County of Fresno’s Department of Public Works and Planning (County) is proposing to make park improvements to Choinumni Park (Park). The project is located at the intersection of Pine Flat Road and East Trimmer Springs Road, north of the unincorporated community of Piedra, California. The Park is open for both day use and camping with approximately 170 acres developed in trees and turf. Access to the Kings River makes the Park a popular attraction amongst county residents year-round. Current amenities within the Park include seventy (70) campsites, a picnic shelter, public restroom, picnic areas, tables, barbecue pits, and other minor elements such as signage, lighting, and benches.

The project involves the addition of some new facilities and renovation of existing facilities at an existing public park. However, there will be no expansion of the current boundaries of the park or intensification of the use of the park. The project consists of various improvements and upgrades to existing park facilities, such as camp sites, picnic area, and restrooms with minor expansion of some of those facilities, to accommodate the currently anticipated level of park use however, non that would result in adverse impacts to the environment.
