Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement, No. EPIMS-SBA-34516-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Sandyland Cove Homes Association as represented by Jesse Groves.
The project is limited to the removal of the existing bridge and replacement with a new bridge. The existing bridge does not conform to fire protection access standards. The new bridge will be built to allow for fire protection access as well as maintain safe access for residents. It will be built in the same alignment but will be larger at 74-feet-long by 22-feet-wide. It will be single-span concrete bridge with no support pilings or abutments located within the creek banks. The new bridge deck will sit 1.5 feet higher than the existing bridge deck and will be set 2 feet above the FEMA 100-year flood level. The abutments will be 4 feet further back from the creek bank on the north side and 6 feet further back from the creek bank on the south side. In total, the bridge replacement design will open up approximately 319 square feet of creek channel by relocating the bridge abutments and removing the existing bridge piles resulting in additional creek channel area. A temporary bridge will be constructed to allow for access to the residential community. The project will not require any dewatering or stream diversion. Heavy equipment will be used to complete the project.
