Document Description
The project is limited to fire fuel abatement work within the Preserve intended to address the Placer County Hazardous Vegetation Abatement Ordinance (Placer County Ordinance 6015-B), and the determination by South Placer Fire Department Division Chief/Fire Marshall Jeff Ingolia that extremely hazardous fire conditions exist in the Preserve. The proposed activities would be limited to clearing low stature vegetation (i.e., weeds, shrubs, and grasses) with hand tools, trimming/thinning of shrubs and trees to raise the canopy and eliminate ground cover/brush/ladder fuels within the drip lines, and removal of dead, diseased, and/or non-native trees.

Class 4 because the project consists of fuel management activities within 100 feet of structures based on the determination by the local public agency with fire protection responsibility that fuel clearance is required due to extra hazardous fire conditions. Project activities will not result in the taking of endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species or significant erosion or sedimentation of surface waters.
