The University of California San Diego proposes to install energy storage system equipment within an existing pad at the existing East Campus Utility Plant. No off-site trenching or utility upgrades would be required, though on-site utility connections and on-site preparation would be completed. The project would not result in an increase in energy use. The project would also involve research study of the operation and efficiency of the storage system.
