Reasons for Exemption
The projects consist of minor alterations of existing public facilities involving negligible expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of this determination. The purpose of this project is to improve safety for pedestrians crossing the roadway at uncontrolled crossing locations either near or at schools that have high pedestrian counts. The addition of safety devices (thermoplastic paint and rectangular rapid flashing beacons) selected for this project will help remedy these types of collisions.
