Document Description
The County of Fresno’s Department of Public Works and Planning (County) is proposing to make water improvements to Liberty Cemetery (Cemetery). The project is located at the southeast corner of Belmont Avenue and Hughes Avenue. The Cemetery is open daily with approximately 7.15 acres developed in trees and turf. The project will connect Liberty Veteran’s Cemetery to the City of Fresno’s reclaimed water system. This will reduce the use of groundwater currently utilized for irrigation purposes. The proposed design includes connecting to the existing City of Fresno reclaim water pipeline along Hughes Ave or Belmont Ave depending on costs associated with either option. If connected to Hughes Ave, a 6-in diameter PVC pipe along Franklin Ave from the existing hydropneumatic tank to the point of connection will be installed. If connected to Belmont Ave, then the 6-in diameter pipe will run adjacent to the access road of the cemetery up to the hydropneumatic tank. The new recycled water pipeline length will be between 600 ft to 1,200 ft of trenching to the water distribution site within the cemetery depending on the selected route. Miscellaneous improvements, such as installation of booster pumps, electrical upgrades and other appurtenant work will be necessary.
