Sonoma County proposes to fund fuel reduction in the Wind Creek neighborhood, through the removal of dead, overly dense, and invasive plants creating excessive fuel loads along 5.2 miles of public and private roads (Dinnucci, Wolf Run, and portions of Henno Roads) serving 284 structures, with a tota I treated area of approximately 20 acres. Roadside fuels are primarily French broom, with smaller amounts of dead or overstocked, native, woody vegetation.

The project is categorically exempt from the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) Guidelines Sections, Section 15304 (i) Minor Alteration to Land - Fuel management activities within 30 to 100 feet of structures to reduce the volume of flammable vegetation, provided that the activities will not result in the taking of endangered, rare, or threatened plant or animal species or significant erosion and sedimentation of surface waters. The understory fuel reduction is a minor alteration to land that involves fuel management activities within 30 to 100 feet of structures.
