Document Description
Install an approximately 200-foot long 96-inch diameter underground pipeline between Metropolitan’s Inland Feeder and Rialto pipelines adjacent to the Department of Water Resources’ Devil’s Canyon Afterbay. Appurtenant and incidental construction will include installation of an isolation valve, and a Tee joint (joint fitting) on the Rialto pipeline and a Wye Branch (joint fitting) on the Inland Feeder to connect the existing pipelines to the new intertie.

Reasons for Exemption
The installation of new pipeline or maintenance, repair, restoration, removal, or demolition of an existing pipeline as set forth in Section 21080.21 of the Public Resources Code, as long as the project does not exceed one mile in length. The proposed project consists of the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographic features, involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the lead agency’s determination. The proposed project consists of construction and location of limited numbers of new, small facilities or structures; installation of small new equipment and facilities in small structures; and the conversion of existing small structures from one use to another where only minor modifications are made in the exterior of the structure. The proposed project consists of public or private alterations in the condition of land, water, and/or vegetation, which do not involve removal of healthy, mature, scenic trees.
