Document Description
In 1968, dual 20-inch cement mortar-lined and coated steel force mains were constructed from the Martinez Pump Station eastward to a discharge structure located within the Martinez Refining Company’s (MRC) property as segment of network to convey raw wastewater to Central San’s wastewater treatment plant on Imhoff Drive in Martinez. After the discovery of several corrosion locations, staff and consultants designed a project to remove and replace the last 650 feet of both existing force mains. This project will remove the medium to more severe corroded sections and replace all the force mains on UPRR’s right-of-way and MRC’s property. The new pipeline is designed using PVC and will be installed within steel casings for the aerial crossings.
