Document Description
The California Department of Water Resources (DWR) proposes to replace an existing weather station at Big Meadow with a new, tower-style weather station. This project would be part of a multi-year effort to update or replace worn, dilapidated, and unsafe weather stations within the Statewide Monitoring Network that DWR operates in coordination with various state, federal, and institutional agencies. Construction shall occur during the snow-free summer months and take approximately 2 weeks to complete. The proposed project is California Environmental Quality Act exempt via categorical exemption 15302 (CEQA Sect. 15302: Replacement or Reconstruction of Existing Structures and Facilities). The existing weather station shall be replaced with a new weather station and shall result in negligible or no expansion of capacity and area or the infrastructure.
