Document Description
Remove and replace the roof and complete exterior repairs to the historic Bidwell Mansion at Bidwell Mansion State Historic Park to help preserve the historic building for future visitors and ensure its use as an interpretative facility. Work will:
•
Remove approximately 8,743 square feet of existing wood shakes, sheathing, underlayment, and flashing;
•
Remove approx. 450 linear feet of existing gutters and downspouts and replace;
•
Remove the existing roof membrane and sheathing at the gutter sites and provide blocking to accommodate deeper/wider gutters;
•
Install a silicone roof coating on approx. 3,280 square feet of the existing membrane roof;
•
Use cement plaster to patch/repair around the exterior of the mansion and chimneys;
•
Remove deteriorated wood components and repair or replace, in-kind;
•
Retain/reuse existing sheet metal caps at balusters;
•
Replace 23 existing baluster urns with replica units;
•
Repair five (5) existing wood doors and all exterior wood windows;
•
As needed, remove and replace T & G wood decking and related fascia; and
•
Prep and paint all exterior surfaces.
