The project is located at the CAL FIRE Piedra Fire Station at 6185 Elwood Rd, Sanger, CA 93657. The project involves the installation of a DG60-2 Caterpillar generator to provide electrical power to the facility in the event of a power outage.
Additionally, a Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) refill station and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) Storage area will also be installed. The generator, SCBA refill station and the PPE storage area will be housed in a new structure with a footprint measuring 36’ x 11’4” and the foundation will be set approximately 1’6” in the ground. Minor trenching will be completed at lineal distances of approximately 180’ at a depth of 30” to connect the generator to the station electrical system, approximately 80’ at a depth of 18” to install water pipe, and approximately 20’ at a depth of 18” to connect a sewer line. Backup power at the state fire station is necessary to ensure that essential public services continue during an unplanned power outage. The project is anticipated to take approximately 1-2 months to complete.
