The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes an emergency sanitary sewer lift station grinder pumps and electrical control panel replacement that serves the Merced Maintenance Station on State Route (SR) 99, at postmile 13.1, in Merced County. The project will remove and dispose existing pumps, bases, float controls, and piping inside the lift station. All work will occur within Caltrans Right of Way. The purpose of the project is to address the failed submersible pumps in a sanitary sewer lift station. The need of this project is to prevent and mitigate the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
