Document Description
The UCDH Main Hospital IT HUGS System Upgrades Project upgrades the existing Hugs system with a new system and associated equipment from Stanley. UCDH utilizes a state-of-the-art electronic system, called Hugs, that protects infants and children from the threat of abduction while in the hospital. The system generates alarms when an infant and child is removed from the safe area, when a tag has been tampered with, when the tag is not seen by the system for a period of time, or when certain other conditions occur. The existing Hugs system in the Pediatric Units of the Main Hospital is at the end of its useful life and will no longer receive support from the manufacturer. All work is interior to the existing Main Hospital.
