Document Description
The project is limited to the maintenance and replacement at 26 pole locations. The project activities include overhead work, pole replacements using helicopters, and anchor replacements. Overhead work will be conducted at 11 poles, where crews will reach the site on foot and climb the poles to ensure line tension and equipment is intact. The project includes the removal and replacement of 11 poles within the stream. The new poles will be set within 4 feet of the existing pole. The new pole will be placed within a pilot hole with the depth of six to ten feet and a diameter of 3 feet. The biodegradable cardboard sonotube will be placed inside the hole and the pole will be installed within the sonotube. The project also includes the replacement of ten anchors. The project will temporarily impact 0.34 acres (416 linear feet) of streambed from the installation of the infrastructure and overland travel.

Class 1 addresses operation, maintenance, repair, or minor alteration of existing facilities or topographical features. Included in this exemption are existing facilities owned by a utility used to provide electric power, natural gas, sewerage, or other public utility services. The replacement and maintenance of the 26 pole locations will not expand use of the existing power delivery system in the immediate area and consists of minor alteration to topographical features.
