Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes to open the shoulder
for part-time use as an additional lane on I-15 southbound (SB) to reduce traffic queues and improve operational conditions within PM 180.2 to 186.2. The project is part of the Pilot Project, and the shoulders would be open to traffic on Sundays, Mondays, and Holidays (with exact hours to be determined), and major events or major incidents. The proposed work limits will be from the CDFA Mountain Pass Border Station and extend beyond the CA/NV state line to Primm, NV. All work would be performed within State Right of Way. No additional night or temporary construction easements are required. No funding is required to open the shoulder.
