This project proposes to place Sacramento River Winter Run Chinook Salmon eyed-eggs into remote site incubators at Ah-Di-Na Campground, release them after they hatch directly into the McCloud River at the campground and operate rotary screw traps and fyke traps approximately twenty miles downstream in an approximate one-mile area upstream of the United States Forest Service McCloud Bridge Campground

Reasons for Exemption
Class 6 consists of basic data collection, research, experimental management, and resource evaluation activities which do not result in a serious or major disturbance to an environmental resource. These may be strictly for information gathering purposes, or as part of a study leading to an action which a public agency has not yet approved, adopted, or funded. Class 7 consists of actions taken by regulatory agencies as authorized by state law or local ordinance to assure the maintenance, restoration, or enhancement of a natural resource where the regulatory process involves procedures for protection of the environment. Examples include but are not limited to wildlife preservation activities of the State Department of Fish and Game. Construction activities are not included in this exemption. The project will have no significant effects on the environment. Take of listed species pursuant to the Endangered Species Act (ESA) will be addressed via compliance with an ESA Section 10(a)(1)(A) Recovery Permit.
