Document Description
The lower dock at Picacho State Recreation Area requires dredging following Tropical Cyclone Hilary. Following the storm, the resulting deposition of sediment in the channel has made the channel too shallow for boat access and left the dock inoperable. The lower dock is essential for park-wide emergency services and maintenance, as portions of the park are only accessible by boat. This project would restore function of the lower dock and channel by removing (dredging) sediment from the channel. Dredging will be completed by a long reach excavator up to a depth of six feet (6'). The channel is 30 feet wide an approximately 470 feet in length. Dredged material will be transported to the park's green waste area for drying and potential use in other projects. A list of best management practices incorporated into the project design can be obtained by reaching out to the contact below.
