Document Description
Conditional Use Permit (CUP) for the modification of an existing Wireless Communication Facility(WCF) that consists of six (6) antennas behind Fiberglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) enclosures. The property is located at 2120 Mission Avenue in the RM-1-1 zone within the North Park Community Planning area. The project site is located within a fully developed neighborhood and is primarily surrounded by residential uses. The WCF is unmanned and technicians would visit the site only as required for routine maintenance and repairs.

Reasons for Exemption
REASONSWHYPROIECT ISEXEMPJ: The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review and determined that the project would qualify to be categorically exempt from CEQA pursuant to Section 15301 (Existing Facilities). Section 15301 allows for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing facilities (public or private), involving negligible or no expansion of use beyond that existing at the time of the determination. Since the project would only permit the continual operation of an existing WCF with minor improvements the exemption was deemed appropriate. The project is located on a developed site and no environmental impacts would occur and none of the exceptions described in CEQA Guidelines Section 15300.2 apply.
