Document Description
Neighborhood Use Permit (NUPJ for the continued use of the existing Wireless Communications Facility (WCF). The project proposes to change the existing monopalm to a monoeucalyptus with 15 panel antennas, 15 Remote Radio Units (RRUs), and 3 Tower Mounted Amplifiers (TMAs). The 230 square-foot equipment enclosure is located on grade with 4 equipment cabinets to support the WCF. Located at 1708 Cactus Road, San Diego, CA 92154 in the IBT-1-1, FAA Part 77 Noticing Area, Olay Mesa Community Plan area. The WCF is unmanned and is not for human habitation.

Reasons for Exemption
The City of San Diego conducted an environmental review that determined the project would not have the potential for causing a significance effect on the environment. The project meets the criteria set forth in CEQA Section 15301 (Existing Facilities) which allows for the operation, repair, maintenance, permitting, leasing, licensing, or minor alteration of existing public or private structures, facilities, mechanical equipment, or topographical features, involving negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. Since the project would only permit continual operation of an existing WCF with only minor improvements, the exemption was deemed appropriate.
