The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board) is a Responsible Agency for the Project. The State Water Board is financing the Project referred to internally as Centralized PFAS Remediation Treatment System Project. The Project includes installation of a centralized ion exchange Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) treatment system at Montebello Land and Water Company’s (MLWC) existing treatment plant which will treat effluent from all of MLWC's seven wells to acceptable levels of PFAS.
