Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code
15301, 15302, 15303, 15304, 15311, 15314
Reasons for Exemption
The FUHSD proposes to construct a new Voyager Building, a new Makerspace Building and various other improvements to existing facilities and utilities within the boundaries of the existing LHS campus. The building and improvements would serve the existing student population. The project would not introduce a new use or increase the number of classrooms on the LHS campus. Therefore, the proposed project would not increase original capacity by more than 25 percent or ten classrooms. Per section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines, it has been determined that the project is not located on a hazardous waste site and would not result in a significant impact due to unusual circumstances, damage scenic resources, affect an historic resource, or result in a cumulative impact. For these reasons and those stated above, the project is exempt from the provisions of the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA).
