Notice of Exemption

Exempt Status
Emergency Project
Type, Section or Code
Sec. 21080(b)(4); 15269(b)(c)
Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt from the requirements of CEQA compliance due to needed emergency repairs to publicly owned facilities necessary to maintain service essential to public health, safety, and welfare. A break in the water line causes an interruption of water to the fire suppression system of the Buena Vista Pumping Plant causing improper operations.
