Document Description
Department of Water Resources (DWR) Delta Field Division (DFD) Staff will perform road maintenance along the NBA Pipeline Easement (Figure 1). Approximately 8,000 yards of ¾” road aggregate will be added as needed from Mile Marker 10.76 to Mile Marker 20.5 due to erosion. Aggregate base will also be added around the existing vaults. Grading and rolling will occur after rock aggregate base has been placed. The full work area encompasses approximately 10.25 acres. Road aggregate base will be stockpiled at the NBA Yard, located at 1750 Cement Hill Road, Fairfield, CA. Aggregate base material will also be stockpiled in existing turnouts located at the gates to access the NBA Pipeline easement sections. Equipment will be staged inside secured fenced in areas when not in use. A pre-work safety meeting will occur. All equipment and work are within the DWR right of way.

Reasons for Exemption
The State Water Project provides significant and critical services to many Californians. This project is exempt because it involves routine maintenance activities to prevent further erosion damage to SWP facilities. This project will not result in impacts to special status species or habitat. The Categorical Exemption Class 1 will be used for CEQA compliance as this activity will be implemented without any environmental impacts.
