Document Description
The County of Fresno’s Department of Public Works and Planning (County) is proposing to make park improvements to Raisin City Park (Park). The Park is located at the northwest corner of Henderson Avenue and Bowles Avenue in unincorporated Raisin City, California. The Park is open for day use with approximately one acre developed in trees and turf. The park is frequently used for recreation activities, to host celebrations, and for community events. The project consists of upgrading playground equipment; enhancing park lighting; and installing new tables, seating areas and fencing. The project will include as many of these improvements as the budget will allow, with the addition of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) parking improvements and a safe-fall surface for the new playground equipment. These improvements will encourage visitors to participate in outdoor recreational activities and promote mental and physical wellness.

The project involves minor alteration to an existing facility, the installation of ADA compliant automatic opening doors, and the installation of a new small, paved parking lot, adjacent to the facility site. The project will not affect any historic resources, the project site is not located in a flood hazard area, nor is the project site located on or near any known hazardous waste sites. Approval of this project will not result in any land use changes or an increase in density.
