Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has executed Streambed Alteration Agreement number EPIMS-FRE-31312-R4 pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to the applicant, Southern California Edison. Project activities include the repair and replacement of key components of the low-level outlet valve system at Big Creek Dam No. 1. The proposed repairs will address compliance with Department of Water Resources California Division of Safety of Dams regulations, operational reliability, and public safety. Project construction is anticipated to require two construction seasons between May 1 and November 30 (Work Season). Activities in Work Area 1 and 3 will occur in Work Season 1 and activities in Work Area 2 and 4 will occur in Work Season 2. The longest phase of the work will be removal of accumulated debris and sediment from around the slide gates at the upstream base of the dam which will be completed during Work Season 2.
