Document Description
The California Department of Fish and Wildlife has amended Lake and Streambed Alteration Agreement EPIMS Notification No. EPIMS-LAN-31463-R5, pursuant to Section 1602 of the Fish and Game Code to Southern California Edison as represented by Hazem Gabr. The Project involves the removal of two wood poles, 1008164E and 1004588E, from Haskell Creek. Access to the removal sites will occur using a bucket truck and boom trucks via existing unpaved roads. Crews will park along the unnamed dirt roads and access each location by foot. Crews will then use hand tools to remove the top four inches of soil immediately around the pole butt. The soil will be set on a tarp within the 10-foot work area and used to backfill the top of the pole removal site. Removal of the structures will be conducted using hand tools, including but not limited to shovels, chainsaws, a hydraulic jack, and jackhammer. Crew members will use shovels to dig around the structures to loosen them for removal. The hydraulic jack will be placed at the base of each structure to lift them out of the ground. Once a pole is removed, it will be moved out of the streambed and stored along the access road. Following the pole removal, the empty pole sites will be backfilled with soil from the streambed or clean pea gravel. Once Pole 1004588E (4858807E) is removed, it will be replaced with a new wooden pole at location 4786310E. The pole will be access from an existing dirt road where vehicles will also be staged.
