Document Description
The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) proposes an emergency project to address multiple mudslides and flood damages on State Route (SR) 120 at Post Miles (PM) 48.0, 51.3, and 53.5 in Tuolumne County. At PM 48.0 the scope of work includes unplugging debris from the culvert inlet, placing Rock Slope Protection (RSP), installation of a new overflow pipe, and repairing the damaged roadway. At PM 51.3 the scope of work includes re-establishing the eroded embankment, repairing the damaged shoulder and westbound travel lane, and RSP placement. At PM 53.5 the scope of work includes replacing the existing 18” Corrugated Metal Pipe (CMP) with a new 18” CMP, RSP placement, and installing new asphalt dike. The purpose of this project is to immediately rectify structural and drainage damages caused by the extreme storm events. The project is needed to prevent the loss or impairment of life, property, or essential public services.
