0U3001 CULVERT RESTORATION VARIOUS ROUTES

The proposed Caltrans Maintenance project proposes culvert rehabilitation such as cleaning, inspecting and lining culverts on Interstate 5, State Route 73 and State Route 133 in various post-miles within the cities of Anaheim, Tustin, Irvine, Laguna Niguel and Laguna Hills, as well as repair and line a broken concrete channel (V-ditch) in one location on SR-133, Orange County. Location 1 through 7 include inspection, cleaning, and lining of the culverts with cured-in-place-pipe (CIPP) liner, slurry fill void in culvert at location 1 and replace broken portion of v-ditch at location 8. At Location 1 through 7, the contractor will inspect and clean culverts using drop-in cameras, line culverts with CIPP (2-3 nights for construction duration at each location) and will access the drain through drainage drop inlets. At location 8, the Contractor will replace broken portion of the V-ditch using the existing access road. For location 1, the contractor will access San Diego Channel with foot traffic to conduct work. The purpose of the project is to extend the life of the culverts and prevent further deterioration. The need is due to deterioration and poor conditions currently of these culverts. Night work is expected. Total Disturbed soil area is unknown. No utility relocations are required. The project has state funding. All work will occur in State right of way. No new right of way will occur.
