Document Description
The Project Applicant proposes to remove and replace an existing private dock that was severely damaged when it was struck by an unknown vessel in order to prevent the dock from causing damage to adjacent structures/facilities or becoming a navigational hazard and to restore safe use of the structure for recreational boating. The project consists of extracting and installing three concrete pilings from the San Diego Bay floor in the same locations and removing the damaged floating dock and installing a new floating dock using hand tools. The replacement dock will be the same shape and configuration as the existing dock but will be smaller in overall size by approximately 60 square feet. The Discharger will implement construction best management practices to avoid and minimize discharges of sediment to the water column and/or receiving waters. The existing gangway will remain and be reused.
