The Applicant proposes to modify an existing water treatment system by constructing a 1,000-gpm iron and manganese filtration system with an approximately 40,000-gallon backwash recovery tank on an existing well-site. A new 13 x 12-foot chlorination building will replace the old chlorination building and house the backwash tank. The Project will be constructed on an existing facility.

Reasons for Exemption
The Project will be constructed on an existing facility and will involve negligible or no expansion of existing or former use. The Project will also consist of reconstruction of an existing chlorination building facility where the new structure will be located on the same site as the structure replaced and will have substantially the same purpose and capacity as the structure replaced. None of the exceptions listed in section 15300.2 of the CEQA Guidelines would apply to the proposed Project.
