Under D.21-07-016, the CPUC determined that the projects proposed by EarthGrid would qualify as exempt under one or more CEQA categorical exemptions.
This project calls for fiberoptic cables to be installed on existing utility poles and within existing underground conduit infrastructure, with terminal points within existing structures. There is no new “construction” on this project other than the installation of the fiber cables. All work will be completed from existing roadways and within existing disturbed areas. No other land will be disturbed.
